Welcome to Acorn Portraits, pencil drawings. This is something that grew out of a drawing I did of my Grandfather a few years ago, I liked the drawing so I did one of my Grandmother, then I just kept going.

Since then my collection has tried to grow, but as most are of family they tend to be given away as birthday presents, others have been commissioned and paid for, or brought at Art Shows. I only have limited space on my walls at home anyway.

There are some celebrity drawings that I hope are recognizable, The Beatles from The White Album photos, Marlon Brando in The Godfather and others.

I hope you enjoy viewing the drawings in the gallery, there is a short summery to go with each drawing to explain who they are and what the drawing is about.

Draw because you can... it's not that hard, it's just a matter of practice and taking the time to do it. Patience is the key, loose your patience and you will never become a doctor.

We all have family photos, but a drawing is something different. And there is only one copy of the original.

A good drawing is unique, There is no auto focus when you start, and you can't just click away on an 8GB memory card until you have a good picture.

Green house emissions probably could have been lower if I had a newer flat screen monitor, but as my old TV style monitor keeps going a weird shade of red every now and again I may be forced to upgrade anyway.

Note: My monitor has since died, the new flat screen is wonderful.
